| You can be creative with vegetables… Ana Mujica, a family child care provider says: "When I make the snacks fun, the children eat them." She makes happy faces out of carrots, celery, and cheese. "They eat parts of the face and before I know it, they are eating the vegetables." She adds, "I like to make spaghetti sauce because you can always add broccoli, zucchini, or even garden burger into it and its hardly noticeable." You can also mix fruit into yogurt, make fresh fruit popsicles, make muffins with chipped fruit (strawberries or bananas) or grated vegetables (carrots or zucchini). Try to prepare foods differently. Sometimes hill sprinkles cinnamon on raw apples. Some children love to eat raw carrots, others like them cooked. If children don’t like chunks of melon, try melon balls.
