DNCCC’s Spanish Interpreter, Arturo Gomez, and his Nephew, Ruben Maldonado, played guitar together during Dana Smith’s Toy Room engagement sponsored by SAVVY.
Sponsored by SAVVY (Special Arts for the Very, Very Young), Dana Smith brought his musical talents to the toy room and allowed kids of all ages to enjoy expressing themselves through music. He also taught hands-on instruction of a variety of instruments!
Dana, joined by many members of the Toy Room sat and sang songs from all generations, ethnicities and styles. With his ability to teach on any level Dana was quite successful at getting the children’s attention and teaching them the important art of music as well as allowing them to have fun and enjoy a sing-a-long!
The Del Norte Child Care Council’s Toy Room is a place that allows children to interact with their parents as well as other visiting children in a fun and safe environment. We offer an Activity Day on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. The activity is usually Holiday or seasonal related. We are also visited by the Wonder Bus on every 3rd Thursday from 3:00-4:00.
You may come and play and enjoy the facility for free! If you would like to join the lending library and be able to check items out, it is only $5.00 a year. There is a variety of items in our Toy Room such as puzzles, books, educational games, computer software, videos, DVD’s, and a resource library for parents as well as child care providers.
