Providers: Need New Monthly Vouchers?
You can email our front desk (Stephanie@dnccc.com) and your vouchers will be ready for pickup at your convenience. Please include your name, parents names, children's names and their dates of birth.
Welcome New Board Members!
The Del Norte Child Care Council has three new Board Members! Stephanie Disrude, Harriett Jenesky and Rich England joined us last Fall (2003) and bring new energy & perspectives to our agency.
Rich is a counselor for the DNUSD. He works with young children throughout the county at the various schools. His wife is a former Family Child Care Provider. He also sits on the Yurok Tribal Council. Harriett is a member of the DN County Mental Health Department and has many years experience in helping people in our community. Stephanie is the Director for the Pine Grove After School Center (a DNUSD funded program). She is a credentialed teacher and teaches the sixth grade at Pine Grove as well.
We really appreciate their willingness to serve on our non-profit Board with other community members. See the back page of our newsletter for a complete list of members & staff.
DNCCC Board Meeting Time Change
The DNCCC Board will meet on the 3rd Wednesday of each month from 6:00-7:30 PM in the New Year. For more information please contact Cris McCollum, the DNCCC Executive Director.
Summer Program in the Works!
Pine Grove Center Director Kim Geib and Mary Peacock Center Director Kristy Nolan have partnered to present another great summer program at the Glenn Street Hollow site! The theme for this summer will be "Cultures Around the World" and curriculum will touch on cultures from all of the major continents. There will be arts & crafts, field trips and educational enrichment components including reading groups, science & math and socialization activities.
The Center will be in operation Mon - Fri from 7:30 AM to 5:30 PM. First priority is given to children already enrolled in the after school program. Please contact Kim at 464-7412 or Kristy at 464-4433 for more information.
Parenting Classes
Learn how to make life less stressful by attending Love & Logic Parenting classes. New classes start monthly. Call Sandy at X 121 to enroll.
- You'll learn:
- Alternatives to threats and lectures.
- To turn your words into gold with enforceable statements.
- To put an end to arguing and manipulation.
- What to do when you can't think of a logical consequence.
- How tough kids react when we start to get close.
- To take time to do discipline on your terms.

Del Norte Child Care Council will be selling all Jammin’ At Jed Memorabilia for 50% off while supplies last. We have hooded sweatshirts, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and ball caps with logos from throughout Jammin’ at Jed history. We have sizes ranging for children through 3x adults. They make great gifts!!

DNCCC Cook Books are Now Available!
"Homemade With Love"
The cookbook contains 181 recipes in 8 categories from Appetizers to Desserts. Staff, board, providers, and supporters of DNCCC contributed the recipes. This is a new venture for DNCCC and we hope it will provide some much needed funds.
Great idea for Christmas or Birthday gifts. Available at DNCCC Office. Cost is $10.00 while supplies last.
