Super Soft Pretzels
    Ingredients:
  • 1 cup enriched flour
  • ½ Tbsp. vegetable oil
  • ½ Tbsp. dry, active yeast
  • 6 Tbsp. fruit juice, unsweetened, lukewarm
  • ½ beaten egg
  • 1/8 tsp. coarse salt
Directions:
In a large mixing bowl combine oil, yeast, juice and half of the flour. Add remaining flour. Knead on floured board 10 minutes or until smooth and elastic. Add more flour if dough is sticky. Pinch off pieces of dough and make long snakes making 8 pieces. Twist into desired shapes and place on greased baking sheets. Let rise in a warm place for 30 minutes. Brush with egg and sprinkle with salt. Bake at 450 degrees F. for about 15 minutes or until browned.

Leftovers may be frozen. To reheat, sprinkle a few drops of water on each pretzel and microwave it for 45-60 seconds until warm.

Preschool: 1 pretzel = bread/bread alternate
