Join the Food Program!!!!

Child care plays a pivotal role in shaping nutrition habits of children. Many children eat the majority of their meals in child care. By the age of 3 years the foundation of eating behaviors has been formed. By participating in a food program you can provide a good foundation.

It is very important to parents to know that their children are getting nutritious meals and caregivers are guiding children to make the right food choices. Joining a child care food program has advantages for both parents and providers. It is our responsibility to teach as much as possible about healthy lifestyles and the importance of good nutrition.

It makes sense to join the Child Care Food Program because:

  • Nutrition habits start early. The CACFP Food Program is a key to training and supporting caregivers in feeding our children.
  • When you join a food program you have access to nutrition education through trainings.
  • Participating in a food program is a great selling point for your daycare business.
  • The food program is a key source of financial support for licensed and Trustline providers. On a small business level the program can provide up to $4,000 a year for a child care home serving 6 children.
Let’s make a difference in the life of a child by teaching nutrition, setting a good example, staying active and modeling good nutrition as a lifestyle. Joining a food program shows that you care about good nutrition as an important component to offer the children you care for.
