| The Story of the Rainbow Quilt |
| The Rainbow Quilt was handmade by many talented people in our community. First, children from Mary Peacock’s Latchkey program, colored all the rainbows used for the panels. Each piece of artwork was transferred by DNCCC staff onto panels of fabric. The Lighthouse Quilt Guild spent time stitching the panels together and adding the binding. Among these people were Carmen Brooks, Rosalie Leaberry, Pat Reynolds, and Leapha Morris. Holli did the delicate cloud quilting swirled throughout the quilt. The finished quilt was presented to the DNCCC Board on August 22nd, 2006. So many lives have had an impact on the Rainbow Quilt. From the smallest child coloring a rainbow to the lovely ladies who volunteered their time to stitch it together. Each person put care and love into the finished piece. But the story of The Rainbow Quilt is only beginning! Now, as the quilt travels throughout the community, you have a chance to give this beautiful artwork a final home, to be loved even more by someone incredibly special.
