Porcupine Fun!

Supplies needed:
Plain Paper Plates
Black Marker
Brown Cardboard, Card Stock or Construction Paper
Scissors
Glue

Porcupines are nocturnal vegetarians, but can be active by day. They eat the inner bark of trees. They move slowly and don't see well. They climb trees to escape predators, but will use their quills if they have to. Porcupines do not shoot their quills. The quills are loosely attached. If attacked a porcupine slaps the attacker with its tail. The quills can be up to five inches long.
Instructions:
Cut a regular size paper plate in half then trim off the edge, leaving a little of the curve of the plate.
Draw a simple face in one corner.
Cut quills from cardboard, card stock or construction paper wider at one end and pointed at the other.
Glue quills onto paper plate which becomes the interesting part!!

Options: Paint paper plates prior to adding quills.
