Then you are invited to a FREE SERIES that offers an opportunity to explore the key ingredients in building a QUALITY child care environment. Participants who complete the sessions receive a certificate of completing, child development materials, and may earn health and safety scholarships. |

The How’s and Why’s of Working with Parents What you need to know about working with parents from the perspective of the business of Child Care. Why you need contracts. - November 11
Family Child Care Health and Safety Preventative Health and Safety Policies and Practices cover the following topics: Causes of infectious diseases; Immunizations; Controlling the spread of infections; Health policies; Safe food rules; Planning for illness; Special needs children; Preventing injuries; Recognizing and reporting child abuse. - November 13
Working with Children An overview of caring for children, including space for children, patterns of child growth and development, importance of play, art and other creative activities, guidance and discipline, cultural diversity, toilet training, television and separation. - November 18
Business Planning and Bookkeeping Bookkeeping and tax record keeping for a family child care business, including tips on successful business management. - November 20
How nutrition and Discipline Go Hand in Hand Nutrition information that fosters good health, good eating habits, and most of all, a good attitude towards food. An overview of the Child Care Food Program regulations will be covered.

Childhood Curriculum Planning developmentally appropriate, creative activities for children, this is a hands-on workshop where you will make and take home projects. - December 16
Children’s Special Needs Working with children--all children--and families with special needs, gathering and using community resources. - December 18
Family Child Care At It’s Best Meet with providers currently working in the child care field. Learn from the experts what works, problems they have encountered, benefits and disadvantages of operating a child care business, and tips that will save you time and money.
