The Family Mobility Access Fund provides free, safety-approved strollers to families with infants and young children in Del Norte County.
In our rural community, many families rely on walking or limited transportation to reach child care, medical appointments, and essential services. A safe stroller can make a big difference—helping caregivers move through their day more easily and ensuring children travel safely.
Who This Program Is For
You may qualify if you:
-Are pregnant or caring for a child ages 0–3
-Live in Del Norte County
-Do not have a safe stroller
-Have limited transportation or walk frequently
-Are experiencing financial hardship or a challenging situation
Who We Prioritize
While we aim to support as many families as possible, priority is given to those with the greatest need, including:
-Families experiencing housing instability or homelessness
-Expecting or new parents without support systems
-Families referred by community partners
-Families needing help accessing child care, medical care, or services
What You’ll Receive
Families approved for the program will receive:
✔ A free, safety-approved stroller
✔ Brief guidance on safe stroller use
✔ Connections to local resources (child care, health, and family support)
How to Apply
**Please note: We are currently accepting applications while we await the arrival of our full stroller inventory. Distribution will begin once items are available.
You can apply in one of the following ways:
-Complete our online application form
Ask for a referral through:
-WIC or Public Health
-Family Resource Center
-Social workers or community programs

Strollers are distributed based on need and availability, with priority given to families facing the greatest challenges.
